Capability and Power

The 2015 Ram 1500 is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine in the standard model. The vehicle also offers two alternatives: a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine with active grille shutters and a 3.6-liter V6 24-valve VVT engine. The V8 engine offers you the most power as well as the most efficiency, but the other two are great options if you want a smoother feel. 

The Ram 1500 also offers two transmission options: a six-speed automatic transmission and an eight-speed automatic transmission, so you'll have plenty of oomph no matter which engine option you choose. The vehicle also offers a smooth ride thanks to the front and rear heavy-duty shock absorbers. 

The 2015 Sierra 1500 offers three engine options: a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine, and a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. These are paired with either a six- or an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

Though this vehicle offers a larger engine than the Ram 1500, the Sierra looks, feels, and drives big with that engine, meaning you won't enjoy the smooth and comfortable ride you'll get from the largest engine in the Ram 1500. 

Infotainment Technology

The 2015 Ram 1500 is equipped with the latest and greatest in advanced infotainment technology. The vehicle offers the Uconnect 8.4A AM/FM/SXM/HD/BT/NAV system with an available SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a one-year radio subscription, so you'll be able to listen to all of your favorite stations no matter what platform they're on. And you'll never get lost again with the easy-to-use navigation system and beautiful touchscreen system. 

The 2015 Sierra 1500 offers a comparable system, the AM/FM/SiriusXM/HD audio system with an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen with navigation and IntelliLink, a USB port, an auxiliary jack, and an SD card slot. And while this all looks good on paper, not only does the vehicle not offer a screen that compares in size to that of the Ram 1500, but it doesn't compare in functionality either. The system in the Sierra 1500 is slow to respond more often than not, which proves to be frustrating to the typical user.
