2019 Jeep Cherokee: Features, Performance, Trim Levels

Explore the Newly Redesigned 2019 Jeep Cherokee in Philadelphia

Jeep branded SUVs have always been known as rough-and-tumble, go-anywhere and do-anything crossovers that reject the beaten path and explore new trails.

Modern models, like the new 2019 Jeep Cherokee, take all of the wild capability and the over-the-top muscle of the SUVs that we love, and add a heaping helping of sleek new design, plush interior comforts, intelligent new technology and connectivity options, and powerfully efficient engine options that can work smarter, not harder, on city streets.

If you're shopping for a new compact SUV in Philadelphia, it's time to put the 2019 Jeep Cherokee on your list. Read on to see why.

New Features and Technology

The Jeep Cherokee once had a well-deserved reputation for taking a minimalistic approach to interior design--and a barebones delivery of driver comfort.

But, as Jeep has surged ahead into a future where its buyer's market is made up of just as many white-collar commuters as it is of rock-crawling adrenaline junkies, there have been some big changes made to luxury comforts and tech connectivity. And the 2019 Jeep Cherokee isn't missing out.

Interior Comfort

The new generation of Jeep Cherokee SUVs optimizes space in the cabin, both for you and passengers and for any cargo that you're bringing along. The interior offers 25.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, and an impressive and utilitarian 54.9 cubic feet behind the front seats when the back row is folded down.

Base models are comfortably equipped with cloth upholstery and basic amenities--plenty to complement commutes or weekend adventures--but it's worth it to upgrade to a higher-level Jeep Cherokee trim if you can. Models like the Limited and the Overland offer premium features and materials, like heated and ventilated Nappa leather-trimmed front seats, a state-of-the-art Alpine premium sound system, and an available CommandView Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof.

Uconnect System and Connectivity

While your Jeep Cherokee was designed to take you out of town and off the grid, it is surprisingly good at keeping you connected. A standard Uconnect 4 system displays media information, some vehicle specs, and your favorite music through a 7.0-inch touchscreen on even the entry-level Latitude model.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration systems are available on all trim levels in the new 2019 Jeep Cherokee lineup, so you can hook your compatible smartphone right in to an available USB port and stream familiar apps right though the Uconnect display. On range-topping trims, you'll enjoy the crisper, clearer experience of a 8.4-inch display screen.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Trim Levels

The wide range of available trim levels in the new 2019 Jeep Cherokee lineup mean that there's a fit for just about every lifestyle.

Performance Upgrades

The powertrain lineup in the Jeep Cherokee is constantly evolving, to offer bigger and better while still maintaining practicality and efficiency--but, engineers never forget about the true roots of the Jeep brand. That's why the 2019 Cherokee features advanced new options, but still offers its legendary Pentastar engine.

Engine Options

Standard power for most trim levels in the new 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes from a practical 180-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir four-cylinder engine. Its ideal balance of high mpgs and spirited acceleration makes it a great choice for drivers in downtown Philadelphia. An optional 271-horsepower 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine will feel familiar to Jeep fans,

New for 2019 is a fun, punchy new 270-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. It's a four-cylinder that feels more like a V6, that delivers great acceleration with nearly no lag, and pairs to a nine-speed automatic for smooth performance.

Jeep Brand Four-Wheel Drive

All models in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee lineup offer an available Jeep Active Drive 4x4 System that's been custom-engineered to fit its exact needs. Though the Cherokee of today has softened a bit on the inside, to be more attractive to families and those who don't usually go off-pavement, there's nothing missing from the 4WD capability of this new SUV.

The Selec-Terrain Traction Management available on all 4WD-equipped vehicles adds even more capability to tackle rougher roads, poor weather, harsh terrain, and unforgiving side trails.
